All our waste materials are recycled. We use a variety: aluminium plates, metal ink tins, plastic ink cartridges, the ink itself, paper, cardboard and plastic wrapping.
We take our environmental responsibilities extremely seriously. We limit our use to FSC certified paper only, which means it has been sourced and can be traced back to sustainably managed forests. Jamprint are also proud to be a part of the Carbon Capture scheme. This means, for every bit of paper we use we plant trees in return!
Our promise/guarantee to all customers
We will always endeavour to improve our sustainability.
In particular we will:
All used plates are collected by our licensed waste carrier and are recycled. No plates are stored and they are all remade therefore reducing the use of chemicals to clean and reuse them.
All plates are produced using our Computer to Plate machines thus reducing the use of film and the chemicals required.
These are crushed and recycled. All of our inks are vegetable-based.
All plastic ink containers and plastic protective wrap from paper pallets are crushed after use and collected for recycling.
Waste is segregated, recycled and reused. All chemicals are collected by the award-winning J&G Environmental, accredited waste disposal experts. They then dispose of them in the recognised most “environmentally-friendly” way.
Offsetting carbon:
We use solely LED lighting at Jamprint to reduce our carbon footprint.
We use Positive Energy for all of our energy requirements and they provide us with the following;
Carbon offsetting allows businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and cancel out residual carbon emissions by purchasing carbon credits. With Positive Energy, your business will be able to compensate for its CO2 emissions while supporting projects which deliver a range of environmental, social, and economic benefits in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGOs) and Renewable Gas Guarantee of Origin (RGGOs) show that electricity and gas have been generated from renewable sources. The outcome of REGOs/RGGOs is net zero carbon but without the widespread environmental, social, and economic benefits of carbon offsetting projects.
For those of our customers that would like to offset the carbon emissions involved in the production of their printed materials, we can work with The Worldland (should this be Woodland or is it different?) way. Trust and paper suppliers Premier Paper, Antalis & Denmaur Paper to enable you to offset residual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This is achieved through the protection and restoration of carbon-rich wildlife habitats across the globe.
Woodland Trust:
The Woodland Trust is the leading UK woodland conservation charity (Charity no. 294344 /SCO38885)
The Woodland Trust’s aim is to protect and develop natural woodland throughout the UK thereby protecting our natural heritage. Ancient woods have rich, irreplaceable ecosystems that has been damaged by non-native planting and invasive species. The woodland trust work to restore them to their former glory.
The money we donate goes towards the planting of trees along with the nurturing and care it needs throughout its life. They also look after existing ancient woodland along with clearing overgrown spaces for new planting.
To date Premier papers contribution has created – 66,712 tonnes of CO2 captured – that’s as heavy as around 13,500 elephants! – Over £1.1 million raised and around 266,000 trees planted (166.78 hectares) – that’s enough to stretch over 142 miles – roughly the distance from London to Sheffield if planted in a straight line.
Woodland is the second largest sink of CO2 after the oceans, the CO2 is captured by the planting of trees in new native woodland here in the UK through the Woodland Trust’s Government backed Woodland Carbon Scheme. The scheme operates under the HM Government’s 2011 Woodland Carbon Code. www.woodlandcarbon.co.uk
100% of the Carbon Capture charge goes directly to the Woodland Trust to plant native woodland in the UK.
With help and donations, The Woodland Trust has planted more than 47 million trees since they began in 1972 and worked with thousands of landowners, schools and local authorities.
Our plate-making machinery uses water technology to reduce the use of chemicals.
All company vehicles are new Diesel engines to minimise our CO2 emissions.
When purchasing our newest presses we invested in Inpress Control, which cuts our start-up waste by one third. As existing machines are replaced, we will continue to minimise waste by purchasing Inpress Control, which is an optional extra.
