The Woodland Trust’s aim is to protect and develop natural woodland throughout the UK thereby protecting our natural heritage. Ancient woods have rich, irreplaceable ecosystems that has been damaged by non-native planting and invasive species. The woodland trust work to restore them to their former glory.

The money we donate goes towards the planting of trees along with the nurturing and care it needs throughout its life. They also look after existing ancient woodland along with clearing overgrown spaces for new planting.

To date Premier papers contribution has created – 66,712 tonnes of CO2 captured – that’s as heavy as around 13,500 elephants!  – Over £1.1 million raised and around 266,000 trees planted (166.78 hectares) – that’s enough to stretch over 142 miles – roughly the distance from London to Sheffield if planted in a straight line.

Woodland is the second largest sink of CO2 after the oceans, the CO2 is captured by the planting of trees in new native woodland here in the UK through the Woodland Trust’s Government backed Woodland Carbon Scheme. With help and donations, The Woodland Trust has planted more than 47 million trees since they began in 1972 and worked with thousands of landowners, schools and local authorities.
